I love getting referrals to nice (and beautiful) people! Pat, Aleeza, and Callie came to me by way of previous clients and though we hadn’t met in person prior to our shoot, I knew they’d be great to work with. Their little angel is about 10 months old and is the perfect blend of mommy and daddy. She had such a great smile and inquisitive nature!

I met the trio down at Crystal Cove at sunset and we got some great shots! I pulled a rookie move and left my flip flops at our first location. Happily, found my sandals and when I got home, I found some great photos of this darling family, too! Enjoy!

While Callie was a superstar, I should mentioned one thing to potential clients: during family shoots, the little ones always set the pace. Please don’t be worried if your child gets fussy or needs a break to play or have a fruit snack! A happy child is a smiley child and is always easier to photograph! Also, if you child just LOSES it, which frankly hasn’t happened yet, we’ll work through it and will make your experience a good one as best as we can!

I’m going through images from today’s awesome shoot in Crystal Cove, and I came across a precious picture that reminds me of my own little sister. As I was explaining to my clients today, photos come out adorably EVEN when their youngsters don’t smile. Callie here, is making the cutest little scrunched up face!

Back in the day, my sister (who is about nine years younger than me) would make the cutest little faces. She’d scrunch up her nose and purse her lips. We’d call it her schnooter face…and no, I can’t remember why. I’m sure we took a thousand and one photos of her making the face and it’s just as cute now as it was then.

Parents, don’t stress out about your child making a perfect smile for every photo. Life happens…and it’s often funny, but always beautiful!

Eli and Cora are the darling kiddos lucky enough to be born to Kara and Brad. They are adorable toddlers with a plethora of energy, but they’re also the inspiration for Kara’s business, Eli’s Lids. Eli’s Lids are the most adorable children’s hats and if you HAVEN’T visited her website, go now!!! (I don’t just say that because I’ve known Kara since she was born, but rather because she’s RIDICULOUSLY talented!!!)

I met the sweet young family down by the beach (Crystal Cove) on a VERY hot morning, but we had a great time running around. Eli is a great big brother, and while his hugs might be a little on the rough side occasionally, he clearly loves little Cora. And Brad and Kara…forget about it. These two are so in love with each other and their children.

I loved spending time with you guys down by the beach and think you’ve got a truly special family. I can’t wait to hang out with you more and watch how God blesses your family!

I met up with the Scholtes down at Crystal Cove recently. Their daughter Ella just turned one and it was time to get some new family photos. It was a beautiful day and the beach was packed with young families playing catch, romping around in the waves, and enjoying their first tastes of summer. It was clear to me that Ella wanted to join right in on the fun…her crystal blue eyes caugh all of the activity!

Jen and Eric have a wonderful love story and it’s so awesome to see them as parents, too. Ella is a precious child and I just know she’ll grow up feeling an abundance of love.

This last weekend, I had the awesome pleasure of shooting the Seatons at Crystal Cove. Little Finley is right around 6 months old and they hadn’t had any professional photos done, yet, as a family. The Seatons are a lovely young family and Finley is just precious!
