Wow, I guess you really want to know more! Okay, you asked for it!
I’m originally from Yorba Linda, CA, a city’s whose motto is “Land of Gracious Living,” and that exemplifies my childhood perfectly. My cousins lived across the street and my grandparents lived next door and my parents were, and always have been, incredibly supportive and loving and told us kids we could achieve ALL of our hearts desires…just like that! We were raised going to church twice a week, riding horses, going to dance classes, and playing piano. Ocassionally we were indulged in our hairbrain ideas and allowed to take classes like BATON TWIRLING – no, I’m not lying, and thank God THAT only lasted a few months.
After high school, I attended Texas Christian University and received an undergraduate degree in political science and english. There I joined a sorority and picked up a twang in my speech; I also interned for a local Congresswoman and after graduation moved directly to Washington, DC, to work for her! I spent nearly four years in our Nation’s Capitol and loved every minute…well, except for 9/11 and going to grad school at night after working all day.
I’ve been home in Orange County since the end of ’01 and have continued my career in government/politics/public affairs. I’ve had some amazing opportunities professionally, but at the same time, have longed for a more creative outlet.
During the last 15 years, I’ve watched countless friends and family members find true love and begin their lives together…and I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m a professional bridesmaid. Through the years, I’ve helped friends plan their weddings and search for new and wonderful ideas…and that’s how I found photography.
I’ve watched wedding and portrait photographers do their magic and capture joyful stories in meaningful ways. Not everyone puts the same kind of emphasis on documenting special occasions, but I’m passionate about it! As I’ve found this passion, I’ve learned to indulge it and follow my dreams…all the while hearing my parent’s encouragement from my growing up years tell me I can achieve my heart’s desires!
