MY JOURNEY.REBUILDING MY PHOTO MOJO.

Lately, I’ve become more and more involved in photo get together’s, SMUG MUG monthly meetings, and The [B] School.  The opportunities to network are endless and the tips and tricks I’ve picked up are incredibly helpful.

Through my network, I’ve connected with a couple of photographers who have gone above and beyond to help me get my business started.  I’ve done workshops with the amazing Augie Chang in the Bay Area, chatted a number of times with Becker, and have become friends with the uber sweet Ashley Perez and her hubby Jeff.

In spite of all the learning and encouragement, I’ve been feeling really crummy about my photography lately.  Perhaps, it’s not the easiest thing to admit, but I’ve felt a bit stunted.  I’ve questioned my creativity and my product.  I’ve compared myself to my counterparts, when I know that’s a recipe for disaster.

HOWEVER…

Last Friday, I shot a wedding with the Perez duo and it was an amazing experience!  I’m planning to blog this wedding soon, but at this point, I can honestly say that I am proud of my work…I NEEDED this shoot.  My friend Dashy has been a wonderful source of encouragement when I’ve judged my work too harshly, but this wedding was what I really needed…not the words of someone I admire, but my own happiness with the end product.  Sometimes it just takes one shoot to turn your mojo around!

Having said that, I really want to take this moment to thank my wonderful friends and family who have given me encouragement and support while I’ve been waffling…I value your words and am so thankful for the role you play in my life, and ultimately, my career!
